通常、su 権限を必要とするプログラムを起動したり、コマンド (ターミナル以外) を実行しようとすると、パスワードを要求するウィンドウが表示されます。

しかし、ウィンドウが表示されなくなったため、su 権限を必要とするプログラム (GParted など) を起動しようとしたり、フォルダーで「ルートとして開く」を選択するなどのコマンドを実行しようとしても、何も起こりません。sudo gpartedプログラムを適切に起動するには、ターミナルで次のように入力する必要があります。
