表示される定理の番号を変更する

私の文書ではLaTeX、番号付きの定理を次のように使用しました。

定理には「定理 2.1」のような番号が付けられます。

私の質問は、最後のピリオドを取り除くにはどうすればよいかということです。「定理 2.1」を印刷したいのです。
