インストール後にUbuntu 16.04を起動できない

古いデスクトップに Ubuntu をインストールしようとしています。最初のハードドライブには Ubuntu が保存され、2 番目のハードドライブには現在 Windows 10 が保存されています。BIOS から選択すると、Windows 10 の起動は正常に機能します。Universal USB Installer 1.9.6.6 で作成した Live USB を使用して Ubuntu をインストールします。Ubuntu のライブバージョンが読み込まれ、正常に機能します。Live Ubuntu デスクトップのショートカットを使用してインストールすると、デスクトップ環境を起動できなくなります。今日何時間も取り組んでみた結果、この問題を解決しようとして途方に暮れています。

    ~5 minutes later, screen is still burgundy and unresponsive
    ~15 minutes no changes; force power off by holding down power button
