i3status からの i3wm amixer コントロール

bindsym button4 exec amixer -D pulse sset Master 5%+ターミナルセッションから実行して音量を調整できますbindsym button5 exec amixer -D pulse sset Master 5%-。ただし、次のように i3 の設定にコマンドを追加すると:

i3wm ユーザー ガイドにある構文をそのまま使用しています。

構文は正しいように見えますが、問題は間違いなくこの 2 つの bindsym 行にあります。なぜなら、これらの行がなくても問題ないからです。ステータスバーをスクロールするときに音量を制御できるようにするには、どうすればこれを修正できますか?

i3のバージョンが非常に古いため、少なくとも4.11にアップデートする必要があります（i3barのbindsymはリリースノート）。
