Ich habe ein kleines Problem beim Installieren eines Modems in meinem neuen Lenovo Thinkpad X260-Notebook. Das Modemmodell ist Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A und das Betriebssystem ist Ubuntu 16.04.
Auf dem Anmeldebildschirm von Ubuntu wurde mir ein Popup angezeigt, in dem ich die PIN eingeben musste. Daher habe ich die PIN für die SIM-Karte in einem Mobiltelefon deaktiviert. Dies ist eine absolut frische Installation von Ubuntu, die im Mai 2017 heruntergeladen und installiert wurde. Es wurde absolut nichts anderes installiert. Ich habe nur versucht, das Modem zu starten. Die Ausgabe lautet
Mobiles Breitband – im Netzwerk-Manager nicht aktiviert.
Ich habe versucht, eine neue Verbindung herzustellen inEinstellungen > Netzwerk > Mobiles Breitband, aber nachdem ich es erstellt habe, kann ich nicht mehr darauf klicken, es wird nirgends angezeigt. Wenn ich auf Netzwerkmanager klicke, kann ich ein neues Netzwerk erstellen überVerbindungen bearbeiten, aber auch diese neu erstellte Verbindung wird nirgends aufgeführt. Ich habe auch eine Software namens Sakis3G ausprobiert, aber ohne Erfolg. Ich möchte deswegen nicht auf Windows umsteigen.
Dinge, die ich irgendwo gefunden und ausprobiert habe:
Als erstes habe ich die SIM-Karte in das Mobiltelefon gesteckt. Das Internet funktioniert dort und ich habe die PIN auf der Karte deaktiviert. Außerdem habe ich das Modem unter Windows 7 und 10 getestet und unter beiden funktioniert es.

Ich hatte auch ein ähnliches Problem, der einzige Unterschied ist, dass ich ein Fibocom Cat6 L830-EB 4G LTE habe.
Ich weiß nicht, ob Ihnen das hilft, aber ich habe das Problem behoben, indem ich die „Modem Manager GUI“ vom Ubuntu Software Center heruntergeladen habe.
Ich habe ein Thinkpad T480 mit Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Ich hoffe, das hilft irgendjemandem.

Ich hatte ein ähnliches Problem bei der Verwendung von Linux Mint 18.2 (Ubuntu 16.04).
1) 16.10-Quellen zu apt hinzufügen
2) Installieren Sie modemmanager-1.6.0 aus der Quelle und seinen Abhängigkeiten
# cd /usr/src
# apt-get source modemmanager {libmbim libqmi}
# apt-get build-dep {*}
# cd {*} ; dpkg-buildpackage
3) Sollte jetzt funktionieren :-)
