Gibt es dafür eine Problemumgehung?

Sie müssen wahrscheinlich nur Folgendes ausführen:

sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-murrine

So installieren Sie die GTK Murrine-Engine.

Ansonsten liegt es daran, dass es anscheinend nur relativ alte Linux-Versionen unterstützt (RHEL 5&6, Ubuntu 10.04 & 12.04) - sieheHier

Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, wie ich das behoben habe, aber heutzutage reicht ein Upgrade auf 16.04 oder höher, und es funktioniert wieder einwandfrei.
