Ich glaube, ich habe alle anderen Posts zum Thema „Ton funktioniert nicht“ ausprobiert und den Überblick verloren.
Alsa und Pulse bereinigen/neu installieren, neu starten, Benutzer zur Audiogruppe hinzufügen, verschiedene Zeilen in der Alsa-Konfigurationsdatei wie „options snd-hda-intel model=“ und dann verschiedene Optionen wie „generic“, „auto“, „basic“, „default“ usw. ausprobiert. Pulseaudio -k && sudo alsa force-reload einige Male ausprobiert, mit und ohne Neustart.
Hardware: 16 GB RAM, Core I7-4790, Intel Haswell Motherboard mit integriertem Sound und Grafik. Multimedia: Audioadapter: HDA-Intel-HDA Intel HDMI. Betriebssystem: Ubuntu Server 14.04 mit installiertem Ubuntu-Desktop.

UPDATE: Ich habe jetzt eine Creative Soundblaster Play 2 USB-Soundkarte hinzugefügt und das Onboard im BIOS deaktiviert. Auf meinem Ubuntu-Desktop funktioniert es sofort, also funktioniert die Hardware auf jeden Fall. Auf dem Server passiert nichts. Immer noch nur eine Dummy-Ausgabe in den Soundeinstellungen (Puls).
neu installiert/gelöscht/usw., aber ohne Erfolg.
alsamixer öffnet sich überhaupt nicht mehr, proc/asound existiert nicht
