Ohne installierte VirtualBox-Gasterweiterungen beträgt die einzige Bildschirmauflösung 640 x 480:

$ xrandr
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 640 x 480, current 640 x 480, maximum 640 x 480

Wie kann man die Auflösung z.B. auf 1280x1024 einstellen? Es sollten keine VirtualBox-Gasterweiterungen notwendig sein.

Der Gast ist ein Fedora-System.

Ich habe versucht, eineXorg-Konfigurationsdatei wie in diesem Whonix-Artikel beschrieben, was genau nichts bewirkt hat.

Die Verwendung von cvt zum Abrufen einer neuen Modeline für xrandr scheint auch nicht zu funktionieren:

$ cvt 1280 1024

1) Stoppen Sie XOrg

 stop REPLACEWITHNAMEOFXORGSERVICE

2) Konsole öffnen

CTRL-ALT-F1

3) Erstellen Sie die Standard-xorg.conf, sie existiert nicht

X -configure

4) Verschieben Sie xorg.conf.new, damit das System die Konfigurationsdatei verwendet

mv xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf

5) Neustart

reboot

6) Ändern Sie xorg.conf, fügen Sie hinzu

Section "Monitor"
...
 HorizSync 1.0 - 1000.0
 VertRefresh 1.0 - 1000.0
 Option "MinClock" "1.0"
 Option "MaxClock" "10000.0"
 Option "Primary" "True"
 Option "PreferredMode" "1920x1080"

7) Neustart

reboot

8) Systemeinstellungen > Anzeige > „Beliebige -4:3- Auflösung auswählen“

9) Breitbild aktivieren

Host:VBoxManage setextradata "YOURGUEST" "CustomVideoMode1" "1920x1080x32"
