Fußnote mit Sonderzeichen im Epigraph-Befehl

Question

Ich habe ein Problem im Zusammenhang mit einer Frage zuFußnoten und Epigraph.

Das heißt, auf diese Frage wurde von egreg die folgende (supersaubere!) Antwort gegeben:

Benutz einfach \footcitetext:

\epigraph{Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. 
  Ut purus elit, vestibulum ut}{Author\footnotemark}
\footcitetext{author00:_title}

Allerdings ist es mit dieser Antwort nicht möglich, ein Symbol, wie es etwa \daggerals Fußnotensymbol dient, zu erhalten.

Ich habe Egreg um eine Klarstellung zu seiner Antwort gebeten und er hat mich freundlich darauf hingewiesen, dass ein solches Ergebnis durch die Verwendung eines Pakets erzielt werden kann bigfoot.

Wie sollte eine solche Lösung aussehen?

Ich glaube nicht, dass bigfootein Paket notwendig ist. Sie könnten verwenden

 \renewcommand*{\thefootnote}{\fnsymbol{footnote}}

(Speichern – vor – und Wiederherstellen – nach – dem numerischen Wert des Fußnotenzählers).

Der Einfachheit halber habe ich zwei Makros ( \switchfootnotenumsymund \switchfootnotesymnum) zum Umschalten zwischen den beiden Fußnotentypen erstellt:
