Hieroglyph-Paket installieren

Ich bin ein neuer Latex-Benutzer mit geringen Programmierkenntnissen. Ich habe das Hieroglyph-Paket heruntergeladen und die beiden Dateien entpackt. In den Installationsanweisungen ist ein Pfad aufgeführt, in dem die Ordner MF und AUXMF abgelegt werden sollen. Mein Problem ist, dass ich keinen der Ordner in den entpackten Dateien finden kann. Was verstehe ich an dieser Anweisung nicht und wie gehe ich von diesem Punkt aus weiter?

Die Schritte sind:

  1. Legen Sie sesh.exe an einer für Ihr Betriebssystem sichtbaren Stelle ab (ich habe einen neuen Ordner erstellt und den Ordnernamen in die pathUmgebungsvariable eingefügt (auf einem Windows-Computer)).

  2. Legen Sie alles aus den beiden texmfOrdnern in Ihren lokalen Texmf-Baum (ich habe einen Texmf-Ordner erstellt und die Ordner hineinkopiert; da dies das erste Mal war, dass ich einen lokalen Texmf-Baum verwendete, habe ich es in der MiKTeX-Konsole unter Settings, Directories, zum Texmf-Ordner hinzugefügt)

  3. Aktualisieren Sie die Dateinamendatenbank und die Font-Map-Dateien (in der MiKTeX-Konsole unter Tasks).

  4. Probieren Sie die Testdatei aus und nennen Sie sie foo.htx:

Es stellt sich heraus, dass Sesh.exe ein Präprozessor ist, der Gardiner-Zahlen (wie A1) in Hierotex-Code ( \leavevmode \loneSign{\Aca GA/32/) umwandelt, der Layout, Positionierung, Richtung und Skalierung umfasst.

Sesh verwendet stdin und stdout, daher sieht die Kommandozeilenkompilierung einschließlich der Eingabe- und Ausgabepfeile folgendermaßen aus:

sesh < foo.htx > foo.tex
latex foo.tex

Ich konnte die PS- und Type1-Schriftarten nicht richtig installieren (die Installation von Schriftarten im alten Stil, die Unicode nicht unterstützen, ist ein Schreckgespenst!) – und bin sogar so weit gekommen, dass der Latex-Lauf maketfmfehlschlug, weil eine Hier.cfg-Datei nicht gefunden werden konnte.

Alternative

Für mich ist es im Moment einfacher, eine Unicode-Schriftart (wie Noto Sans Egyptian Hieroglyphs) und reines Tikz mit manueller Positionierung und Skalierung zu verwenden, etwa so:
