Ich habe gerade LinuxMint15 auf einem Acer Aspire V3-771G-73638G500Maii installiert.
Der Ruhezustand funktioniert. Der Suspend-to-RAM-Modus funktioniert jedoch nicht.
Beim Klicken auf „Suspend“: Nach einigen Sekunden wird der Bildschirm grau und dann aus. Das Netzwerk ist ausgeschaltet. Der Lüfter des Computers hört auf, sich zu drehen. Die Betriebs-LED blinkt langsam orange. Die Batterie-LED leuchtet immer noch. Alles in allem ist das, was ich erwarten würde.
Beim Klicken auf den Power-Button schaltet sich der Lüfter ein. Die Power-LED leuchtet blau. Die Festplatten-LED blinkt ein paar Mal. Bis hierhin sieht es so aus, wie ich es erwarten würde. Aber dann: Bildschirm bleibt aus. Netzwerk bleibt down. Ein laufender "Cat", der vor dem Suspendieren gestartet wurde, läuft nicht weiter (d.h. die Festplatten-LED beginnt nicht hektisch zu blinken).
Ein erneutes Klicken auf den Einschaltknopf bewirkt nichts. Das Ausschalten ist erforderlich. Strg-Alt-SysRq-REISUB bootet das System nicht.
Dies lässt mich annehmen, dass es sich nicht nur um ein Problem mit der erneuten Aktivierung der Grafikkarte handelt, sondern dass das System nicht läuft.
Das System verfügt über eine vollständige Festplattenverschlüsselung. Das Problem könnte also daran liegen, dass das System die falsche Grafikkarte auswählt (auf dem Bildschirm wird nichts angezeigt) und auf die Passphrase wartet, die Eingabe der Passphrase im Blindmodus jedoch nichts bewirkt (d. h. die laufende „Katze“ wird nicht fortgesetzt).
Was ist los? Wie kann ich das Problem beheben, damit Suspend to RAM (und Restore) tatsächlich funktioniert?

Ich bin ziemlich sicher, dass nur die Intel-Karte verwendet wird (nichts im Syslog oder Xorg.0.log sagt etwas über NV, Nvidia, Nouveau aus). Ich habe dies zu /etc/default/grub hinzugefügt, damit die Wiederherstellung der Grafik aus dem Ruhezustand funktioniert:

Das System verfügt über eine vollständige Festplattenverschlüsselung.

Ich habe uswsusp installiert und das funktioniert:
s2ram -f -a 1
Ein großes Dankeschön an @frostschutz, der mich zum Laufen gebracht hat, hibernate-ramwas mit Folgendem fehlschlägt:
hibernate-ram:Warning: Tuxonice binary signature file not found.
s2ram: unknown machine, see s2ram(8) and the USuspendRamForce option
hibernate-ram: Aborting.
Und so habe ich es ausprobiert s2ram.
Optisch wird es auf genau dieselbe Weise angehalten (grauer Bildschirm, dann aus), aber die Wiederaufnahme funktioniert tatsächlich.
Leider hat es den Ruhezustand unterbrochen. Naja, man kann nicht alles gewinnen.
