Der SSH-Schlüssel wird der Google Cloud Platform-VM sowie dem Gitlab-Konto hinzugefügt. Ich glaube, ich muss Git irgendwie über SSH aktivieren, bin mir aber nicht sicher, wie das mit der Sicherheit der Google Cloud Platform zusammenpasst.

Das Problem lag also woanders.
Ich habe vor Kurzem die IP-Adresse der VM geändert (um eine statische zu haben). Leider habe ich vergessen, die IP in den GitLab-Einstellungen zu ändern, sodass die Klonlinks immer noch auf die alte verweisen. Daher das Could not read from remote repository.
