Unter Ubuntu 20.04 LTS habe ich festgestellt, dass die PID-Datei und der Socket in auskommentiert waren
/etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf. Ich habe diese beiden Zeilen auskommentiert, dann mysql mitservice mysql restartund monit mit neu gestartetservice monit restartund monit konnte den mysqld-Prozess erfolgreich überwachen.
Bei mir hat es übrigens funktioniert. Danke @Tyler (ich kann dort nicht hochstimmen und kommentieren)
