Ubuntu 16.04 lässt sich nach der Installation nicht starten

Ich versuche, Ubuntu auf meinem alten Desktop zu installieren. Auf der ersten Festplatte ist Ubuntu installiert, und auf einer zweiten Festplatte befindet sich derzeit Windows 10. Das Booten in Windows 10 funktioniert einwandfrei, wenn ich es im BIOS auswähle. Ich installiere Ubuntu mit einem Live-USB, das mit Universal USB Installer 1.9.6.6 erstellt wurde. Die Live-Version von Ubuntu wird geladen und funktioniert einwandfrei. Ich installiere über die Verknüpfung auf dem Live-Ubuntu-Desktop und kann dann die Desktop-Umgebung nicht mehr booten. Nachdem ich mich heute stundenlang damit herumgeschlagen habe, bin ich mit meinem Latein am Ende, was den Versuch angeht, das Problem zu lösen.

Screen: Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems:

Ich habe noch ein paar andere Dinge ausprobiert, zum Beispiel das Hinzufügen von Nomodeset zu den Startoptionen über Grub, radeon.modeset=0, das Überlegen, wie ich die Maschine brutal zerstören kann, und das Ausführen einer Boot-Reparatur über die Live-Version.

Defekte Hyperlinks mit Leerzeichen aufgrund mangelnder Reputation, mehr als zwei Links zu posten.

Nach einer langen Diskussion und Fehlerbehebung in den Kommentaren wurde entschieden, dass eine Neuinstallation von Ubuntu von DVD das Problem lösen würde. Grüße, Al
