Wie aktiviere ich ein Touchpad?

Ich habe Ubuntu 11.10 vor einigen Monaten installiert, aber keine richtige Möglichkeit gefunden, das Touchpad zu aktivieren.

Ich habe einmal etwas probiert, an dessen Namen ich mich nicht mehr erinnere.

Hat jemand Vorschläge?

Update: Folgendes wird cat /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.confangezeigt:

Öffnen Sie das Software Center und suchen Sie nachSynaptik, sollte einige Pakete enthalten, die nach der Installation Ihr Touchpad aktivieren sollten.

Ich hatte das gleiche Problem auf einem Dell Inspiron 1545!
