Ich habe gerade erst ein Upgrade von 14.04 auf 14.10 durchgeführt und hatte sofort Probleme mit dem WLAN auf meinem Dell XPS 13-Laptop. Eine Zeit lang funktioniert es einwandfrei (so etwa 30 Minuten bis eine Stunde?), aber dann wird die Verbindung langsam (Paketverlust 25 % bis 75 %) und bricht schließlich ab. Manchmal kommt sie von selbst zurück, aber meistens muss ich den Hardware-WLAN-Knopf ( fn + F2) betätigen.
Beim Filtern protokollierter Nachrichten nach iwlwifiwerden eine mögliche Fehlermeldung fail to flush all tx fifo queues Q 0und mehrere Nachrichten für angezeigt Q 4 is inactive and mapped to fifo 0 ra_tid:

Ich bin nicht sicher, warum diese Probleme jetzt auftreten (hatte in der Vergangenheit nie Probleme bei Release-Upgrades, insbesondere mit WLAN)
Vielleicht denkt es, dass sich der Laptop im Leerlauf/Standby-Modus befindet, obwohl das nicht der Fall ist? Ich habe bestätigt, dass die Energieverwaltungseinstellung deaktiviert ist.
Nicht sicher, aber scheint bei Verwendung eines VPN häufiger vorzukommen.
Irgendwelche Gedanken? Vorschläge?

Es scheint, dass ein Patch für den Kernel 3.16 erstellt wurde, um dieses WLAN-Problem zu beheben:
Fehler 56581 – iwlwifi iwldvm kann die Tx-Warteschlange nicht leeren
und wird auch als Ubuntu-Fehler verfolgt/mit diesem verknüpft:
iwlwifi 0000:01:00.0: Alle TX-FIFO-Warteschlangen konnten nicht geleert werden Q 2

Der Patch hat es noch nicht in die veröffentlichten Ubuntu-Kernel geschafft. Ich werde den Status überprüfen und versuchen, den Prozess bei Bedarf zu beschleunigen, aber es dauert immer mehrere Wochen, bis Updates veröffentlicht werden, da neue Kernel vor ihrer Veröffentlichung einer Menge Regressionstests unterzogen werden.

Ich habe nachgeschaut und der Patch steht bereits für Trusty und Utopic im nächsten SRU-Zyklus in der Warteschlange. Das bedeutet, dass er nicht im nächsten Kernel-Update enthalten sein wird, sondern im darauffolgenden. Das nächste Update wird bereits einem Regressionstest unterzogen, daher ist es zu spät, um es für das nächste Kernel-Update zu bekommen.
Leider musste ich die vorherige Version von Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (von 14.10) auf meinem Rechner neu installieren, wodurch das Problem mit dem WLAN behoben wurde und es wieder wie erwartet funktionierte. Ich habe vor, mit dem Upgrade zu warten, bis dieser Fehler behoben und freigegeben wurde.
