Tengo mi aplicación en funcionamiento, con rieles en mi VPS ubuntu en Linode con mysql.

aquí está la versión de mysql:

mysql  Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.5.35, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 6.2

En general, todo funciona bien, excepto que, a veces, cuando abro una nueva consola Rails aparece el siguiente error:

y de ellos todos los intentos de ingresar a la consola fallan. por qué la aplicación todavía funciona bien y todavía usa la base de datos.

Si lo hago en un shell:

$ sudo /etc/init.d/mysql status

$ sudo /etc/init.d/mysql stop

$ sudo /etc/init.d/mysql start

pero la aplicación sigue funcionando bien todo el tiempo.

Estaba /var/log/mysql/error.logvacío antes de estos tres comandos, después de ellos leí:

Sólo reiniciar el VPS parece resolver el problema, que vuelve después de una o dos conexiones de la consola.

Pensé que cerrar Mysql init.dno lo apaga, para detenerlo necesito hacerlo killy luego reaparece automáticamente.

Esto podría deberse a que mysql no pudo comenzar mientras se iniciaba.

Prueba este remedio

/etc/init.d/mysqld reiniciar

o prueba esto

Eliminar el atributo basedir del archivo /etc/my.cnf

¿Por qué?

La directiva basedir le indica a MySQL dónde encontrar todo lo que necesita para funcionar: binarios, bibliotecas, datos, etc. Por lo tanto, al estipularbasedir=/var/lib, MySQL buscará en /var/lib todo lo necesario para realizar sus funciones.

Para instalaciones típicas a través de RPM, esta directiva no es necesaria y no debe usarse. Para una descripción más exhaustiva de esta directiva, consulte el manual de MySQL.

De hecho, una vez también me enfrenté a este problema debido a un problema de memoria. Intente comprobar también si hay memoria libre.
