Estoy usando kubuntu 15.04. De repente (sin realizar una actualización), cuando inicio sesión, mi plasma no se inicia. Estoy en el escritorio con mis aplicaciones abiertas, pero sin paneles, sin menú, sin fondo.
Sudo plasmashell funciona (pero como root), no como usuario normal. Intentaré actualizar ahora, pero me preocupa un poco solucionar esto primero. ¿Quizás debería comprobar un registro en particular?
¿Podría ser esto un problema de permisos? He estado usando Dolphin como root para resolver un problema de permisos de escritura de una copia de seguridad, tal vez fue una mala idea.

Recientemente configuré mi variable DL_LIBRARY_PATH en .bashrc. ¿Eso podría estar interfiriendo? (mirando aesteinforme de error)

He creado un nuevo usuario. Plasma funciona perfecto para ese usuario. Es un poco molesto tener que volver a realizar todas las configuraciones de mi escritorio, pero está bien... ¿Supongo que entonces fue un problema de permisos? Ninguna pista...

Definitivamente un problema de permisos. Logré abrir el administrador de usuarios (sudo plasmashell en la consola que estaba abierta (gracias a Dios) y la configuración del sistema). Crear un nuevo usuario (e iniciar sesión con ese usuario) parecía haberlo resuelto.
Después fui lo suficientemente estúpido como para hacer sudo chown -R me /home/me ¡y volvió a estropearlo! Después de 10 años de uso de Linux, debería haberlo sabido. Los permisos de archivos ocultos son importantes...
