
Tengo una Dell Latitude E6410 con la última versión de Ubuntu 15.04 (consulte los detalles al final de esta pregunta). Creo que tengo el mismo problema con el TrackPoint como se describe en:

Pero leer ese enlace me deja confundido sobre cómo instalar realmente ese paquete desde los repositorios de Ubuntu (y me refiero a instalarlo sin mucho esfuerzo, como descargar y compilar a partir de paquetes fuente).
Buscando en la web muestrahttp://www.ubuntu.com/certification/catalog/component/input/4932/input%3AAlpsPS/2ALPSGlidePoint/ que habla de un portátil certificado. E6410 no aparece en la lista.
La búsqueda del paquete Glidepoint revela:

que dice que:
No existe una versión actual para este paquete fuente en Ubuntu.
¿Es ese el paquete correcto para instalar? Concluyo "no" debido al comentario anterior. Si ese no es el paquete correcto, ¿cuál debo usar? Si es el paquete correcto, ¿por qué aparece el mensaje "sin versión actual"?

Y eso no muestra ningún widget que me permita controlar el comportamiento de TrackPoint, que es lo que me llevó a creer que faltaba algo y, por lo tanto, que necesitaba buscar e instalar algunos paquetes especiales:

Para desactivar el DualPoint Stick en Latitude, abra Terminal y escriba:
xinput disable 'AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint Stick'
