Ubuntu MATE 21.04 no se "inicia" cuando intento realizar una instalación limpia en mi PC. El instalador se inicia y muestra el logotipo verde de Ubuntu y los pequeños círculos avanzan durante unos 30 segundos y luego el sistema se cuelga. Intenté esto varias veces, en dos unidades USB diferentes, y verifiqué las sumas de verificación. También limpié la unidad una vez y descargué Ubuntu 21.04 (no mate), pero está en la misma unidad USB y arranca bien.
Mi computadora ha estado ejecutando Ubuntu MATE 20.10 sin problemas, y antes de eso 20.04, 19.10, etc. hasta 18.04. No se ha agregado ningún hardware nuevo a mi computadora.
Mis especificaciones de hardware son:
- Procesador AMD Ryzen 7 2700X de ocho núcleos
- 32 GB de RAM
- Placa base para juegos ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F
- GPU NVidia GeForce RTX 2070
- Unidad de arranque Sabrent NVMe M.2 de 1 TB
- Puerto Ethernet de 1 GB en la placa base
También tengo un par de dispositivos USB conectados:
- Memoria USB 3 con imagen del instalador Ubuntu-MATE 21.04 (a través de BalenaEtcher)
- Conmutador KVM USB (solo se usa para teclado y mouse; video conectado directamente al monitor)
- Cámara web Logitech HD Pro C920
- Micrófono USB - BCMaster
- Lector multitarjeta SIN tarjetas externas (CF, SD, etc...) conectadas
- Unidad externa LG USB Bluray/DVD/CD que actualmente está apagada para la instalación
Eché un vistazo a los registros del instalador escritos en la unidad USB y en el archivo auth.log comienza así:

El último mensaje se repite eternamente cada 30 segundos hasta que apago la PC por completo.
Para repetir, actualmente estoy ejecutando Ubuntu Mate 20.10 en este hardware y ha estado ejecutando Ubuntu Mate durante un par de años sin problemas. Probé el instalador en dos unidades USB diferentes (16 Gb) y terminé con los mismos mensajes de auth.log.
Intenté buscar un problema similar, pero todo lo que encontré sobre ese problema son algunas referencias a una instalación de RHEL.
Se agradecen todas las sugerencias. Puedo buscar elementos en otros registros, pero no estoy seguro de qué sería útil publicar. Muchas gracias de antemano. Realmente quiero realizar una instalación limpia de Ubuntu Mate 21.04 en mi PC.
