Ubuntu 21.10.

Estoy construyendo núcleos como se documenta enhttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compileyhttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/BuildYourOwnKernel.

DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=parallel=$(getconf _NPROCESSORS_ONLN) AUTOBUILD=1 NOEXTRAS=1 \
    fakeroot debian/rules binary-arch

Este comando de compilación tiene el mismo resultado:

make --jobs=$(getconf _NPROCESSORS_ONLN) bindeb-pkg \
    LOCALVERSION=-custom-$(git describe | tr '[:upper:]' '[:lower:]')

Esto crea algunos .debpaquetes:

Actualice initramfs (que estrictamente hablando no es necesario porque ya se ha hecho, pero por si acaso):

$ sudo update-initramfs -u -k all

update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-5.13.0-22-generic

Luego corro update-grub:

Mi kernel compilado 5.13.19-ubuntu-5.13.0-22.22no se agrega al menú de Grub mediante update-grub. Sé que puedo agregarlo manualmente, pero existe el riesgo de errores tipográficos. También necesito compilar muchos núcleos porque estoy intentando localizar un posible error usando git bisect. El problema del kernel que estoy solucionando no ocurre en los kernels principales más recientes, solo en (algunos, pero no todos) los kernels de Ubuntu 21.10, por lo que solo hago esto para aprender algo y satisfacer mi curiosidad.

¿Qué necesito hacer para update-grubagregar mi kernel compilado desde el /bootdirectorio al menú de Grub?

Los tres comandos siguientes resuelven este problema desactivando el bit ejecutable 09_lowlatencyy activando el bit for 10_linux, de acuerdo con el texto de /etc/grub.d/README.lowlatency.

# chmod -x /etc/grub.d/09_lowlatency
# chmod +x /etc/grub.d/10_linux
# update-grub
