Recibo el siguiente error después de actualizar de 11.10 a 12.04 beta. Incluso con las actualizaciones diarias de parches, no se ha resuelto solo, así que lo publicaré.
Error de Compiz de Ubuntu 12.04 beta:Fatal: couldn't open display :0
Básicamente: cuando inicio, la pantalla muestra que Ubuntu se carga brevemente, durante unos segundos y luego pasa a la pantalla de inicio de sesión de la terminal.
Tengo una tarjeta ATI, solía tener mi propio controlador compilado instalado en 11.10, no estoy seguro si la actualización lo sobrescribió.

Al intentar instalar el fglrxcontrolador, aparece un error similar a este: (No puedo hacer una captura de pantalla ni copiar y pegar en la consola, así que lo escribo en una computadora diferente:
