Preámbulo: Intenté buscar una solución y nada funcionó para mí.
Primero, cuando ejecuto el siguiente comando
$ sudo python --version
Python 2.7.5+
De manera similar para python2 y 3
$ sudo python2 --version
Python 2.7.5+
$ sudo python3 --version
Python 2.7.5+
me pasa exactamente lo mismo
Cuando intento, por ejemplo, instalar Firefox
sudo apt-get install firefox
Entiendo el problema que tiene esta persona
Quiero desinstalar Python3 y solo usar 2.7
Primero, la solución no funcionó para mí. Más bien, no estoy exactamente seguro de lo que esta persona dice en la forma en que lo especifica.
Dos, no puedo reinstalar python3

Reinstalé Python 3.4.3 desde la fuente y cuando verifico la versión de python3 todavía obtengo Python 2.7.5+.
