Mi sistema (Ubuntu 15.04) sigue teniendo un problema en el que la máquina todavía está activa pero no puedo iniciar sesión. Al iniciar sesión en la GUI, la ruleta simplemente gira y en la consola aparece:

La única forma en que puedo recuperarme es apagando la máquina. Estoy bastante seguro de que los discos están bien. smartctl no informa errores. ¿Alguien ve algo en el archivo de registro que pueda ser el problema?

Después de este error, vi que el uso de la memoria en el servidor aumentó considerablemente y aún no ha vuelto a disminuir, parece una pérdida de memoria...

Esto parece ser un ejemplo de un error en el subsistema cgroups de la versión 3.11.x del kernel de Linux (Informe de error) que desencadena un punto muerto en el kernel que conduce abloqueo suave. El punto muerto ocurre cuando un proceso intenta limpiar un directorio de cgroup. Le recomiendo que actualice su kernel a una versión más reciente.
