Bien, aquí está la historia. Tengo un laboratorio JDS. C5D USB DAC durante aproximadamente un año y ayer quería probar Ubuntu 14.04. Entonces, instalé Ubuntu, hice algunas actualizaciones y conecté DAC ( sudo alsa reloady killall pulseaudiose usaron comandos).
Después de que entré "Ajustes de sonido" y seleccioné Salida analógica para C5D, probé el sonido de prueba. "Frente izquierdo" y "Frente derecho"sonido producido como"Hrrr Hrrrr" y "Hrrrr Hrrrr". Incluso intenté reproducir música y vídeos; el mismo resultado.
¿Quizás sea un problema de DAC? Entonces cargué Windows y luego Kali Linux, funcionó perfectamente en ambos.
Después de regresar a Ubuntu, estaba tratando de ver si el sistema reconoce DAC correctamente, por lo que este es el resultado de algún comando:

No tengo problemas con mi C5D en Ubuntu 14.04. My PulseAudio daemon.conftiene los siguientes cambios, que puedes probar y ver si resuelven tu problema:
default-sample-format = s24le
default-sample-rate = 48000
