Creé RAID10 en BIOS (Intel RST). El 16.04 todo estaba bien. Y en 18.04 no puedo ver mi incursión en absoluto. Yo elijo:

  1. Contenedores MDADM activos (Intel/DDF RAID) => "sí"
  2. Activar dispositivo Serial ATA RAID => "sí" o "no"

Sí o no en el segundo punto: no veo mi RAID en el siguiente paso.

¿Cómo puedo instalar correctamente el servidor 18.04 en Intel RST (RAID10)? ¿Y por qué en 16.04 todo está bien y en 18.04 hay problemas, qué cambió?

Parece que Ubuntu 18.04 no lo admite. Estoy teniendo el mismo problema. Una solución es configurar todos los discos en modo no RAID en Bios y, al continuar con la instalación, crea el RAID y luego lo instala.

Además, tenga en cuenta que para poder crear el RAID durante la instalación, no puede usar la versión en vivo, necesitará el instalador Bionic Beaver (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/releases/bionic/release/)

Sé que esto es muy viejo, pero para algunos otros que vienen aquí con el mismo problema, en mi caso la solución fue entrar en BIOS y activar el modo RAID on, cambiándolo del modo AHCI anterior. Con el modo AHCI funcionaba en Ubuntu 16.04 con mdadm 3.3, sin embargo en 18.04 mdadm es la versión 4.1 y según la página de manualhttp://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/xenial/man8/mdadm.8.html:

IMSM_NO_PLATFORM
              A  key  value of IMSM metadata is that it allows interoperability with boot ROMs on
              Intel platforms, and with other major operating systems.  Consequently, mdadm  will
              only allow an IMSM array to be created or modified if detects that it is running on
              an Intel platform which supports IMSM, and supports the particular configuration of
              IMSM that is being requested (some functionality requires newer OROM support).

              These  checks  can  be suppressed by setting IMSM_NO_PLATFORM=1 in the environment.
              This can be useful for testing or for disaster recovery.  You should be aware  that
              interoperability may be compromised by setting this value.

Aparentemente se necesita RAID ON en la nueva versión de mdadm para detectar una plataforma que admita IMSM.
