Estoy intentando reutilizar un viejo Asus EEE "a-la-RaspberryPi" como una unidad pequeña de una sola tarea. Como estoy familiarizado con Fedora, instalé Fedora 27 a través de VNC (el instalador gráfico predeterminado es demasiado grande para la pantalla EEE), pero no instalé ningún entorno de escritorio (no lo necesito, además incluso LXDE lo haría). han requerido más espacio en disco que el tamaño total del EEE).
Durante la instalación pude conectarme a Internet de forma inalámbrica(después de haber configurado desde el instalador el SSID y PWD de mi red doméstica).
Sin embargo, con el sistema instalado, no estoy:

Está plugin missingen rojo brillante en la consola, pero no he podido buscar en Google ni hacer dnf sobre lo que se supone que es... ath5kparece ser un módulo habilitado en mi kernel, y no pude encontrar ningún "complemento". "paquete para nmcli en los repositorios...
También me confunde lo siguiente:

¿La radio [de un dispositivo, supongo] está ENCENDIDA pero no hay ningún dispositivo?

Probablemente te falta el NetworkManager-wifipaquete.
# dnf install NetworkManager-wifi
Para aplicar cambios, reinicie NetworkManager.service:
# systemctl restart NetworkManager

En CentOS 7, el administrador de paquetes es yum. Simplemente reemplácelo dnfcon yum:
$ sudo yum install NetworkManager-wifi
