Estoy usando xmonad y quiero habilitar la función UrgencyHook para saber cuándo alguien me habla en pidgin. Para eso utilizo el XMonad.Hooks.UrgencyHook
módulo. Utilizo dzen2 y conky para la barra de estado, y solo quiero que xmonad resalte el espacio de trabajo en el que se encuentra pidgin cuando requiere atención.
Ahora intenté usar dzenUrgencyHook y funcionó, pero en realidad quiero que xmonad resalte el espacio de trabajo en la barra dzen2 actual que he abierto, y aquí es donde viene el problema, ya que no pasa nada.
Entonces parece un problema de configuración, ya que con dzenUrgencyHook funciona, supongo que pidgin de hecho está enviando la señal WM_URGENT.

Ahora espero que "4:chat" (donde se ejecuta pidgin) pase a un fondo rojo y un primer plano negro, pero en realidad no sucede nada. Me pregunto qué estoy haciendo mal ya que verifiqué configuraciones similares y aparentemente son iguales.

El problema es que para espacios de trabajo urgentes se aplican ambos ppUrgent
y . ppHidden
Dado que ha utilizado formato de color en ppHidden
, eso anula cualquier coloración posterior que pueda agregar ppUrgent
.
Sin embargo, se resuelve fácilmente; simplemente extienda ppUrgent
para eliminar el formato que ppHidden
aplica, con la dzenStrip
función:

Su gancho de urgencia debería funcionar sin problemas.
Como complemento, también se pueden aplicar otras funciones para resaltar el espacio de trabajo urgente. Por ejemplo, en mi propio xmonad.hs, aplico:
