Quería instalar Tomcat en mi máquina Debian 6.0.4. Probé apt-get install tomcat6-usery funcionó bien. Pero luego cambié de opinión acerca de la instalación del usuario y quise instalar el paquete tomcat6. Esto resultó en una serie de errores (ver más abajo).
Ahora, cualquier cosa que intente hacer con apt-get o con aptitude (intentar eliminar tomcat6-user, intentar eliminar tomcat6, intentar realizar una actualización de apt-get,...) simplemente da como resultado la misma lista de errores.
¿Cómo logré eso? ¿Y cómo puedo solucionarlo?

Bien, lo tengo. Creé mi propio script iptables-common que contiene solo algunas reglas estáticas de iptables. Eliminar ese script resolvió el problema. Aunque estoy confundido porque esto nunca antes había sido un problema. Tal vez porque Tomcat agrega reglas de iptable...

Cuando observa otros scripts en /etc/init.d/, puede notar que comienzan con una sección específica como la siguiente:

Al agregar dicha sección, los errores que encontró al intentar instalar Tomcat ya no existirían.
