Estoy intentando formatear este disco duro externo pero fallé. Intenté usar gparted pero aparece un error:"Error de E/S en la máquina remota durante la escritura en /dev/sdb"
También intenté usar el comando dd en la terminal pero funciona de la misma manera:

La unidad aparece debajo fdisk -l
pero /etc/fstab/
no la reconoce.
Este problema comenzó hace unas semanas cuando lo formateé en Windows 10, luego de hacerlo, comenzó a disminuir su rendimiento y escribir archivos en él tomaría más tiempo de lo habitual y ahora descubrí que algunos archivos están corruptos y no pueden ser recuperado.
Lo único que quiero es formatearlo y dejarlo como nuevo. NO es necesario recuperar los archivos, sólo hacerlo funcionar nuevamente.

"La unidad está muerta o muriendo. Reciclela y reemplácela. Sugerencia: cuando smartctl le da un valor distinto de cero para los errores no corregidos informados, significa que la unidad ha agotado el suministro de sectores de repuesto reservados por el fabricante y la falla es inminente. – AlexP"
