Estoy en Debian Jessie/Sid de 64 bits e intento usar:

Instalé los controladores ATI basados enhttps://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary#configure. Recibo "¡Oh, no! Algo salió mal" en lugar del GDM adecuado. Eliminé el archivo .Xauthority, los archivos temporales X, etc., pero nada de eso sirvió de ayuda.
Luego instalé el controlador amd-catalyst-13.11-beta6-linux-x86.x86_64.run reenviando mi pantalla a otra computadora. De alguna manera, el controlador AMD no se podía instalar sin la pantalla X. Creé el xorg.conf inicial con aticonfig
. Eso tampoco funcionó.
No estoy seguro de si tengo un error aquí o si hay algo dañado en mi sistema. En este punto ya no tengo ideas y tampoco encuentro ninguna pista en la web. Así que supongo que SU es mi última esperanza.

No estoy seguro de haber podido resolver el problema todavía o haber pasado a otra cosa, pero parece que es un problema con los controladores Xorg y Catalyst más nuevos.
Tuve éxito al parchear el controlador Catalyst en Ubuntu y Fedora 20, por lo quedeberíaTrabajo en Jessie pero no lo he probado yo mismo.
Después de descargar el catalizador, extraiga el archivo .run
abra el directorio donde extrajo el controlador:, catalyst/common/lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/kcl_acpi.c
vaya a la línea 990 y reemplace todo eso (hasta el final del archivo) con:

Luego use el ati-installer.sh
script incluido con el controlador para compilar paquetes de Debian, o simplemente compilarlo e instalarlo manualmente y eso debería funcionar.
