no puedo iniciar Gnome System Monitor

Tengo Debian 10 y KDE Plasma. A veces, cuando hago doble clic en el icono de KDE para iniciar Gnome System Monitor, parece cargarse y luego se cierra inmediatamente. Cuando intento comenzar desde la línea de comando ingresando

gnome-system-monitor

Entiendo esto:

No estoy seguro de cómo llega a este estado en el que no puedo iniciarlo, o cómo solucionarlo para que pueda comenzar de nuevo. Lo intenté:

sudo killall gnome-system-monitor

y consigue esto:

gnome-system-monitor: no process found

Pude solucionarlo mediante:

  • haga clic derecho en la aplicación en el Iniciador
  • haga clic en Editar aplicación
  • haga clic en la pestaña Aplicación
  • haga clic en Opciones avanzadas
  • haga clic en Ejecutar como un usuario diferente
  • ingrese "raíz"

Ahora puedo iniciarlo nuevamente en KDE.
