Hace aproximadamente una semana o dos intenté actualizar mi kernel, lo que por cierto rompió mis controladores NVIDIA de alguna manera. En cada inicio recibía el mensaje "Módulo NVIDIA Kernel roto. Volviendo a nouveau" o algo parecido. Lo busqué y varias fuentes me dijeron que sudo dnf update --refresh, pero al hacerlo me dio:

Hago todo esto porque desde que se rompió el Kernel, no he podido ejecutar ningún código CUDA. Intenté ejecutar el ejemplo de Vector Addition de NVIDIA y obtuve este error:

Failed to allocate device vector A (error code system has unsupported display driver / cuda driver combination)!

Si intento ejecutar mi propio programa CUDA de salida vectorial, solo genera 0. No hace falta decir que CUDA no funciona. Revisé mi CUDA Toolkit e incluso lo reinstalé, así que debería estar bien. Por lo que sé, es posible que ni siquiera esté en el estadio de lo que debería hacer para solucionar este problema. El objetivo final es que mi código CUDA vuelva a funcionar.

Cosas que probé:

  • Reinstalación del kit de herramientas CUDA
  • actualización de sudo dnf --actualizar
  • actualización de sudo dnf --refresh --best --allowerasing
  • Firmando el módulo del kernel de NVIDIA (no recuerdo dónde, pero en algún lugar dijeron que lo probara, seguíesta guía)
  • Reinstalar completamente los controladores (medianteesta guía)
  • Revertir a un kernel más antiguo (esto funcionó por un tiempo pero eventualmente también se rompió de la misma manera, además prefiero no quedarme atrapado en un kernel más antiguo si puedo solucionar el problema)

Casi todos estos no tuvieron ningún efecto.

Si algunos de sus paquetes tienen dependencias no satisfechas, la actualización se negará a continuar hasta que la ejecute nuevamente con una --allowerasingopción adicional.Esto sucede a menudo con paquetes instalados desde repositorios de terceros para los cuales aún no se han publicado repositorios actualizados.Estudie el resultado con mucha atención y examine qué paquetes se eliminarán. Ninguno de ellos debería ser esencial para la funcionalidad del sistema, pero algunos pueden ser importantes para su productividad.

  • En caso de dependencias no satisfechas, a veces puedes ver más detalles si agregas la opción --best a la línea de comando.
  • Si desea eliminar/instalar algunos paquetes manualmente antes de ejecutarlos dnf system-upgrade downloadnuevamente, es recomendable realizar esas operaciones con --setopt=keepcache=1la opción de línea de comando dnf. De lo contrario, se eliminará todo el caché del paquete después de la operación y deberá descargar todos los paquetes una vez más.
