Tengo este comportamiento extraño:
Es como si lo hubiera introducido lhang=1como argumento opcional, pero no he hecho tal cosa. ¿Qué podría estar causando esto?

Lettrine funciona en párrafos: cambia la forma parcial. A su entorno le falta un \paral final, por lo que los grupos terminan antes del párrafo y la configuración de lettrine se pierde para todo el párrafo. Añade a \para tu definición de \endprayer.
