Salida MISC

Tenemos una máquina CentOS que actúa como nuestro servidor syslog. Recientemente noté que la máquina ha estado eliminando una gran cantidad de mensajes de syslog en ocasiones. Contamos con más de 250 enrutadores y conmutadores, así como firewalls que registran cada conexión abierta/cerrada.

Puedo ver que los mensajes llegan a la NIC de Ethernet... por ejemplo, supongamos que entro en el modo de configuración en uno de nuestros enrutadores y luego salgo... esto genera un mensaje de syslog y lo huelo para demostrar que llega al syslog. servidor...

Sin embargo, ese mensaje no aparece en el syslog (aunque sí lo hace otro mensaje enviado a las 05:37:05)... Sólo uno de los siete u ocho de esos mensajes aparece en el archivo de registro...

He intentado muchas cosas para que este servidor registre correctamente...

  • Se eliminaron todos los archivos extraños de la partición.
  • Comprobó la NIC en busca de descartes/errores.
  • rsyslogd recargado
  • Recargado el sistema
  • yum update
  • Inició un servidor de nombres de almacenamiento en caché
  • Iostat comprobado (la carga es bastante razonable, ver más abajo)
  • Vmstat comprobado (cargar nuevamente, es bastante razonable)

Me estoy quedando sin ideas... ¿Cómo puedo evitar que este servidor pierda syslogs?

Actualice a la versión más reciente de rsyslog. Tuvimos exactamente este problema en el trabajo y eso es lo único que lo resolvió. Las versiones anteriores tenían problemas con la resolución de nombres e incluso desactivarlas no lo resolvió. La rama 7.x resuelve el problema. Veré si puedo encontrar el enlace específico.

Supongo que RedHat respaldó todos los problemas relacionados con el rendimiento a la versión rsyslog contenida en el sistema operativo.

rx_no_buffer_count: 103Parece ser el problema central aquí.

Esto dice que se eliminaron 103 paquetes TCP ANTES de que pudieran pasarse al sistema operativo.

La caída se registró en la NIC (y no se pasó al sistema operativo, por lo que netstatno lo mostró). Para resolver el problema, probablemente tendrá que aumentar el tamaño del búfer del anillo de recepción en la configuración de su NIC.

Haga una ethtool -g eth0para ver su configuración actual y posible para RX.

Según mi experiencia, configurar el RX-ring-buffer en 2048 o 3172 es bastante bueno.

Esto le dará tiempo a la NIC para almacenar en búfer los paquetes TCP entrantes hasta que el hardware (esto necesita una interrupción PCI) y el sistema operativo tengan tiempo de procesar los paquetes.

Para que este cambio sea persistente, cambie ETHTOOL_OPS como se describeaquí.
