Cómo mostrar entradas de índice en la misma línea que el texto que se indexa

¿Es posible permitir showidxmostrar entradas de índice en la misma línea que el texto que se indexa? Parece que no es como makeindx.pdfdice:

Esta macro en realidad escribe elcajaque contiene todas las entradas del índice de la página actual [...].

Lo cual es un poco irónico ya que, en makeindx.pdfsí mismo, el nombre de la macro que se describe así, \@mkidxestá en el margen, justo delante del texto. (Por supuesto, el entorno parece diferente y \@mkidxprobablemente no sea una entrada de índice. Por otro lado, el texto en cleveref.pdf, que también tiene entradas de margen, parece ser solo... texto).

Entonces, dado que ya estoy usando hyperrefy , cleveref¿ tcolorboxcuál podría ser una respuesta? Ojalá uno que no requiera todavíaotropaquete.
