¿Cómo agregar referencias usando BibTex desde un archivo .cls?

Question

Estoy usando una plantilla de bioinformática con un archivo bioinfo.cls definido por el usuario.

Esta es la sección donde se define el entorno "Referencia".

Quiero usar BibTex en su lugar usando los archivos .bib. Intenté agregarlo en el archivo pero las referencias no aparecen.
