Estoy trabajando en un administrador de pantalla. Cuando un servidor X ya está iniciado, mi administrador de pantalla funciona bien y puede iniciar sesión como usuario. Sin embargo, para que sea un administrador de pantalla adecuado, debe poder iniciar un servidor X por sí mismo.
Al observar el resultado de ps aux | grep Xy al examinar el código fuente de otro administrador de pantalla liviano (SLiM), creo que mi administrador de pantalla debería ejecutar el siguiente comando:
/usr/bin/Xorg.bin :0 vt1
Esto supone que actualmente no hay ningún otro administrador de pantalla/servidor X en ejecución.
El problema es que cuando mi programa ejecuta ese comando o cuando lo ejecuto manualmente, cambio al terminal virtual que especifico y luego el sistema se "cuelga". En realidad no estoy seguro si está colgado o simplemente no puedo acceder a otros terminales virtuales (creo que es lo último). Aquí está el Xorg.log después de reiniciar la máquina:

Estoy usando Arch Linux con el servidor X versión 1.16.3. Una persona en #xorg en IRC confirmó que en su sistema, ejecutar el comando que especifiqué todavía les permite acceder a otras terminales virtuales, aunque están usando xorg versión 1.15 y no en Arch Linux.
¿Alguien más puede confirmar que su sistema se comporta o no como lo describí (deberá reiniciar su sistema si se comporta como el mío)? ¿Cómo puedo iniciar el servidor X manualmente y seguir teniendo acceso a los otros terminales virtuales?

X ahora no tiene raíz con la ayuda de systemd-logind, esto también significa que debe iniciarse desde el mismo terminal virtual que se usó para iniciar sesión, la redirección de stderr también interrumpe el inicio de sesión sin raíz. El antiguo comportamiento de ejecución raíz se puede restaurar a través del archivo de configuración Xorg.wrap (man xorg.wrap). Tenga en cuenta que iniciar X a través de un administrador de inicio de sesión (gdm, kdm, ...) aún no proporciona acceso sin raíz.
Estaba intentando iniciar X en un tty diferente al que estaba.
