Configuré LightDM como administrador de escritorio en una instalación ARM de Ubuntu (ejecutándose con un chroot en un dispositivo Android) y esto se carga y funciona bien, sin embargo, cuando intento iniciar una sesión de Xfce como usuario normal termino con un espacio en blanco. pantalla negra con solo el mouse (que funciona).

También puedo iniciar xfce desde la terminal como root bien constartxfce4

Esos errores son causados por /etc/X11/Xsession.d/00upstart. Cuando lo eliminas, KDE se inicia normalmente.
