Mensaje de error absurdo al ejecutar LuaLaTeX desde el paquete MikTeX

De vez en cuando me detengo la compilación de un artículo de quince páginas cuando uso LuaLaTeX con un diagnóstico absurdo. LuaLaTeX informa que no tenía suficiente memoria. Al mismo tiempo, el administrador de tareas muestra que hay 4 GB de 16 GB de memoria libres en el sistema y XeLaTeX compila el artículo sin problemas. Liberar memoria realmente ayuda a restaurar compilaciones usando LuaLaTeX. Tengo MikTeX y Windows 10 Professional. No verifiqué si LuaLaTeX de TeXLive funciona en las mismas condiciones.

La verdad es que no sé qué preguntar. Me parece que se trata de una especie de error complicado.
