¿Cómo desactivo el envío de mensajes de nginx a syslog?

Mi nginx envía muchos mensajes a syslog, pero no los necesito. En mi nginx.conf:

      error_log  /var/log/nginx-error.log  notice;
        ......
      server {
      access_log  off;
      location /
      {
         .... 
        }
      }

pero, en mi /var/log/message ves

No sabía que nginx enviaría a syslog sin parchear:

Entonces, supongo que tienes una compilación personalizada de nginx. Eche un vistazo a la fuente del parche para obtener sugerencias sobre cómo configurarlo:

Si está ejecutando un nginx directo, entonces algo más es poner esas entradas de registro en syslog.
