Scientific Linux no arranca después de que yum actualice el kernel

Acabo de actualizar el kernel de mi Linux:

[root@localhost ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release 
Scientific Linux release 6.1 (Carbon)
[root@localhost ~]# uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.32-131.0.15.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue May 10 15:42:40 EDT 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

y ahora no arranca (, justo después de ver GRUB donde puedo seleccionar una versión diferente del kernel (probé una recién instalada)Ykernel anterior) con los mismos resultados:

También noté que todos los archivos "initramfs" parecen haber sido actualizados (probablemente por eso ya no puedo iniciar el kernel anterior).
