
Mi servidor se ha estado apagando solo durante los últimos 3 días después de un problema relacionado con la energía. Es una máquina virtual KVM. Permanece encendido no más de 20 minutos y luego se apaga. Tenga en cuenta que no se reinicia, sólo se apaga.

Creo que vale la pena señalar que podría ser un problema de hardware o software, así que intentaría solucionarlo primero.
¿Puede activarlo pero desactivar el procesamiento estándar y ver si algo cambia, por ejemplo, cerrar todos o la mayoría de los procesos, de modo que sólo la fuente de alimentación y los conjuntos de chips estén funcionando, pero se esté realizando muy poco procesamiento? Tenga en cuenta que esto no calentará tanto los componentes. Por lo tanto, es posible que también deba intentar ejecutar algo como una prueba de memoria o un bucle en un algoritmo de compresión que cargaría la CPU y la lógica del bus, provocando así que sus circuitos alcancen la temperatura adecuada.
Si aún se apaga después de 20 minutos, parece un problema de hardware relacionado con la temperatura. Si puedes, ponlo en un congelador (en serio) e intenta ejecutarlo desde allí. Si permanece encendido, entonces tienes un transistor defectuoso en alguna parte.
Lo básico: los transistores defectuosos a menudo comienzan a fallar cuando se calientan. A veces puedes enfriar uno defectuoso (intermitente) y hacerlo funcionar. También puedes calentar uno intermitente defectuoso y hacer que falle. .. y sí, su servidor tiene solo mil millones de transistores aproximadamente (incluidos importantes transistores de alta potencia en la fuente de alimentación, que son los que tienen más probabilidades de fallar). También puedes calentar cuidadosamente la placa base con una pistola de calor para que a veces falle. Una buena placa base se calentará bastante y no fallará, aunque hacerlo caliente durante períodos prolongados acortará su vida útil (consulte la información sobre 'la curva de la bañera').
Si no se cierra, averigüe qué proceso podría estar causando el problema mediante un proceso binario de divide y vencerás, que es la forma más rápida que conozco para solucionar los problemas. Por ejemplo, intente iniciar aproximadamente la mitad de los procesos (los que no dependen tanto de otras cosas).
También es posible que puedas intercambiar parte del hardware con otro sistema, como la fuente de alimentación, para ayudar a determinar qué es qué.
