La conexión Samba falla desde OS X

El servidor ejecuta Ubuntu 12.04 y Samba 3.6.3. Los usuarios de Windows pueden montar sus recursos compartidos sin problemas, utilizando la ruta \\my_server.com\usernamey la cuenta \username.

Sin embargo, cuando intento conectarme con el cliente GUI nativo de OS X 10.10.5, la autenticación falla. El registro se ve así:

¿Alguna idea de por qué sucede esto? ¿Necesito habilitar NTLM para usuarios de OS X?
