Lo he pasado muy mal con este...
He tenido mi ASUS X301A desde el año pasado, únicamente con Ubuntu 12.04 hasta hace poco (aproximadamente un mes), cuando cambié a 13.04. Más recientemente, compré unos auriculares bluetooth que funcionan de maravilla con mi teléfono y me recordaron que tenía bluetooth en mi PC.
Yendo al grano ahora: parece que no puedo entender cómo hacer que funcione el bluetooth. Cuando intento habilitarlo a través de GUI, no funcionanada en absoluto:
EDITAR: actualicé a 13.10 y volví a ejecutar las comprobaciones, esto es lo que obtengo ahora:

Aún mejor ahora, el bluetooth no aparece en absoluto con rfkill.

Hola tengo poco tiempo porque estoy en el trabajo. Puedo darte una pista y tal vez una solución supuesta;). También tuve problemas con mi adaptador BT (que es USB) hace dos semanas. El mio es:

Pero tuve exactamente los mismos síntomas que usted describió con 14.04 LTS. Después de una larga investigación, descubrí que los controladores de Bluetooth tenían algunos errores hace algunos meses. Tiene algo que ver con un modo configurado cuando el controlador intenta inicializar el dispositivo BT. Hasta donde puedo recordar, fue una corrección de errores que resultó no funcionar muy bien con algunos dispositivos.
VerEl controlador del kernel BT se volvió inestable. También hay un enlace a un parche que hizo que mi dongle BT volviera a funcionar:Reparar el parche del controlador BT inestable
No apliqué el parche a mi kernel porque tengo poco tiempo por el momento y BT no es tan importante para mí, pero como el parche se aplicó al próximo kernel de Ubuntu para 14.04 LTS, instalé este kernel y BT funcionó perfectamente nuevamente. Como tengo una tarjeta gráfica NVidia, no pude usar este kernel porque el paquete de actualizaciones 304 de nvidia no funciona con esta versión, pero en la línea de comandos todo funcionó bien.
Si le es posible cambiar a 14.04 LTS y esperar la próxima versión del kernel o descargar el paquete fuente del kernel, aplique el parche y compile su propio kernel.
