Después de instalar una copia nueva de ubuntu 14.04 descargada de ubuntu.com, estoy intentando instalar algunos paquetes, ya sea nodejs o apache2, siempre dice nombre no encontrado. Busqué un poco y encontré algunas respuestas aquí.
No se pueden instalar archivos con apt-get: "no se puede localizar el paquete"

Como aparece el error con la misma dirección IP en cada conexión tentativa a un servidor que proporciona el paquete Ubuntu, creo que ha configurado un proxy web utilizando la IP 80.112.143.217 y el puerto 80.
Una búsqueda rápida en Google me muestra que efectivamente esta IP está asociada a un proxy web público.
Actualmente no responde a ninguna consulta, por lo que es posible que no esté funcionando ahora. Intente eliminar la configuración del proxy: System settings-> Network-> Network proxy. Elimine o cambie la dirección del proxy por una que funcione y haga clic en Apply system wide.

Parece que estás utilizando un proxy para conectarte con los repositorios. Quizás el archivo de configuración en /etc/apt/apt.conf sea incorrecto. Por favor verifique el contenido. Debe tener la forma:

Acquire::ftp::proxy "ftp://<username>:<password>@<proxy>:<port>/";
Acquire::https::proxy "https://<username>:<password>@<proxy>:<port>/";
¡¡¡El nombre de usuario no puede ser un correo electrónico!!! - el nombre de usuario y la contraseña pueden estar vacíos - eliminar < >
Si puede conectarse directamente a Internet, simplemente elimine el archivo /etc/apt/apt.conf. (También es recomendable hacer una copia de seguridad primero :)) Toda esta información se aplica a Ubuntu 12.04 a 14.04 (hasta donde yo sé)
