Recibo error al actualizar:

Buscar en Google me indica que este error ocurre al usar versiones antiguas de Ubuntu, pero uso la versión 16.04.1 recién descargada:

Intento hacer eso porque no puedo instalar mingw32

¿Cómo arreglar eso? ¿Cómo obtener un resultado exitoso del apt-get update
comando e instalar mingw32 usando repositorios oficiales?

Elimine estas dos líneas (están al final de la lista de fuentes):
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu saucy universe multiverse
# deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ saucy universe multiverse
Ejecute sudo apt-get update
y no debería tener ningún error.
Honestamente, no estoy seguro de cómo logró obtener un repositorio para 13.10 en una máquina 16.04 recién instalada, pero eso lo eliminará.
Sin embargo, su principal preocupación es que mingw32
no se puede instalar en Xenial de 64 bits. mingw-w64
En su lugar, se puede instalar su alternativa para 64 bits . Ambos proporcionan las mismas bibliotecas destinadas a Windows. Ejecute el siguiente comando para instalar:
sudo apt-get install mingw-w64
