Después de publicar bien y mostrarme el menú de grub, mi monitor muestra "Sin señal". Hice el truco "nomodeset" y así es como escribo esta publicación, pero no quiero que se convierta en una "solución" permanente. Intenté bajar a 14.04.5 (el único ISO 14.04 que pude encontrar en ubuntu.com por alguna razón) y terminé con el mismo problema. Decidí realizar un arranque dual 14.04.5 y 16.04.1 solo para poder alternar si es necesario (están usando la misma partición para la carpeta de inicio).
Cuando en 14.04 no pude instalar los controladores fglrx debido a dependencias no satisfechas (como estaaquí). Volví a 16.04 y probé los controladores radeon y amdgpu, sin suerte.
Una cosa extraña es que si conecto mi televisor HDMI al MOBO, junto con el cable VGA, ambos funcionan bien (en 16.04, no pude probar esto en 14.04). Noté este problema la semana pasada cuando dejé mi monitor HDMI.

Eso parece mostrar que está detectando el monitor. No estoy seguro. No he podido descubrir cuál es este problema y solo quería preguntar aquí como último recurso una vez que me encontré completamente perplejo. Así que aquí estoy. Poderalguien¿ayúdame?

No puede instalar fglrxen 14.04.5 porque tiene HWE respaldado desde 16.04 (más información enWiki Ubuntu). 14.04.4 está bien, fglrxse puede instalar allí. Puedes descargarlo desdeVersiones antiguas de Ubuntu(desplácese hacia abajo para ubuntu-14.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso). Además, es posible quedeshabilitar los mensajes HWE EOL(Nuevamente, tenga en cuenta que tampoco recibirá actualizaciones de seguridad).
