Error "No se puede obtener el tamaño de gamma" al intentar establecer la resolución

En 11.10, mi resolución máxima permitida es 1024x768, mientras que mi monitor admite 1280x800 en Windows.

He visto un método para resolver esto a través de xrandr, pero siempre recibo un mensaje que dice que no se puede obtener el tamaño de gamma.

Debe agregar una línea de modelo en su archivo Xorg.conf. Por favor lee esto: http://www.x.org/wiki/FAQVideoModes La parte sobre powerstrip puede ser interesante ya que tienes Windows ejecutándose con la resolución correcta.

Noté que la resolución máxima que se muestra en xrandr estaba limitada a 1024x768. Quizás PRIMERO puedas seguir la wiki a continuación e intentar forzar a X a reconocer la RAM de video.

Haga una copia de seguridad de /etc/X11/xorg.conf y agregue las siguientes líneas. Funcionó para mí para OEL6.5
