Intenté actualizar mi kernel de 4.2 a 4.6, en Ubuntu 14.04, en una Dell XPS 15 9550. Estoy interesado en las mejoras en la compatibilidad con USB-C y las "mejoras en la compatibilidad con computadoras portátiles Dell" en el kernel 4.6.

Cuando intento arrancar con el kernel 4.6, me lleva al shell initramfs BusyBox, con el mensaje de error ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/1e4790ae-0501-4be4-b965-e2b7c77392eb does not exist. Dropping to a shell.

Quizás a dpkg le falte algún paso aquí.
IIRC, es posible en Ubuntu agregar el ppa del kernel a sus repositorios (con add-apt-repository) y luego usarlo apt-getpara instalar el nuevo kernel.
